Here at Zupps, we’re proud of our long heritage in the automotive industry in South-East Queensland. Since opening our first dealership (a Volkswagen dealership in Ipswich back in 1948), we’ve made sure that our passion for the cars we sell has been matched by our passion for exceeding customer expectations.
The iconic yellow elephant symbol has become synonymous with the Zupps brand in Queensland and is a result of an elephant race on Ipswich Show Day in 1960. John Zupp (our original founder) entered his elephant adorned with a big yellow rug with ‘Zupps’ written on the side. On seeing this elephant, he liked the idea and decided to use it as his company logo. Our yellow elephant logo has grown to become one of the most recognised logos in the Australian motor industry.
In 2007 we became a part of something even bigger when we joined Automotive Holdings Group (AHG), Australia’s largest motoring group. AHG has over 183 franchises over 111 dealership locations across Australia and New Zealand and in Queensland we operate most of our dealerships under the Zupps brand name.
In 2019 Automotive Holdings Group was acquired by A.P Eagers.
In Queensland we also operate 3 Daimler Trucks sites in Brisbane, Caboolture and the Gold Coast as well as the recently acquired Aspley Jeep, Aspley Nissan sites. We are proud to be part of Australia’s largest motoring group with history of service excellence and continuing expansion.
Across our 21 car & truck sites we employ over 800 Queenslanders in dealerships located at Aspley, Mt Gravatt, Rocklea, Caboolture and Burleigh on the Gold Coast.
At Zupps, we have a proud history and strong connection with our local community. Some of our key sponsorships include the Mater Little Miracles foundation, Hummingbird House as well a numerous grass roots sporting organisations and community groups.
